The Evansville IceMen found offense, were backed by strong goaltending and brought a win to Evansville.  In their fourth home game of the year, the IceMen doubled their offensive output of the first three combined.  The night started with a large ovation to welcome back Nathan Moon and ended with a victory celebration before the team embarks on a four game road trip.  
Evansville scored the first goal in the game for the first time this season.  Defenseman Troy Rutkowski let loose a shot that found a way behind Mac Carruth a mere 2:19 seconds into the game.  Indy did dominate most of the first period and took a 2-1 lead at the first intermission.  Indy has dominated in two prior meetings in Evansville this year and the first period was more of the same.  
Early in the 2nd period Josh Brittain was penalized for boarding and Spencer Humphries immediately responded by getting into a fight him.  That was a pivotal moment in the game.  The IceMen consistently started applying pressure on the Fuel and creating more scoring chances.  Evansville scored two in the second period, including a highlight reel tally from Tyson Fawcett.  Alex Wideman scored his first goal in Evansville to start  the 3rd period and Evansville held on for a 4-2 victory.
The Good

Four goals is highest offensive output for the team for the season
Christoffer Bengtsberg stopped 29 of 31 shots and appeared to gain more and more confidence as the game wore on.  
The IceMen played solid defense and limited Indy’s scoring chances while protecting the lead the second half of the third period.  
Spencer Humphries mauling of Josh Brittain was perfectly timed and exactly what the team needed.
Michael Trebish delivered a lot of hits.  Those take their toll on forwards and make players keep their head on a swivel.  
The penalty kill unit successfully killed of a 6-4 power play when Indy pulled the goalie late in the game.

The Bad

The first period for Evansville was uninspiring.  The team has been struggling yet lacked any sense of urgency throughout the first period.  I noted one sustained offensive attack in the period.  The remainder of the time the Fuel won puck battles, routinely out hustled Evansville and controlled the period.  
The IceMen only had one power play tonight (the other was at 19:37 of the 3rd) but never created any significant scoring chances on it.
