Today’s episode is all about Special Education.  We were so lucky to have Dr. Kohler and Dr. Calhoon in town doing a professional development at one of our schools.  They are from the Mashburn Center at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.  Dr. Koehler is a professor at UCA and Director of the UCA Mashburn Center for Learning.  Dr. Calhoon is an adjunct professor and director of the Arkansas SIM- or Strategic Instruction Model, which you’ll hear more about in the episode.  This was so fun to do! I really enjoyed getting to sit down and talk with Dr. Kohler and Dr. Calhoon. They were just so incredibly knowledgeable and I could have picked their brains for days!  You could tell that Special Education was near and dear to their hearts as we talked. I think the bottom line of our conversation was build a relationship with your kids. Isn’t that funny that that seems to be a reoccurring theme for us?
