LaFontaine has designed numerous swords for Cold Steel, based on historical examples; one even bears his name -- the Cold Steel LaFontaine Sword of War. Luke has had a life-long passion for Japanese and European swordsmanship and has competed in HEMA tournaments (Historical European Martial Arts.) 


He works as a 2nd unit director, stunt coordinator, choreographer, swordmaster and stuntman in the movie industry. With 25 years of professional experience his work can be seen in Tin Tin, Green Hornet, Iron Man, Beowulf, Serenity, Master & Commander and many more.


He has worked with directors Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Weir, Jon Faverau,Peter Jackson, and John Woo. He also has had the pleasure of training stars like Brandon Routh (Superman), Brittany Murphy, Katie Sackoff (Battlestar Galactica), George Hamilton and John Neville to name a few. And LaFontaine was the Ancient weapons expert and sword safety/advisor for season 2 & 3 of "Deadliest Warrior."
