Hillary Clinton Lies Part Four Gays [The Johno Show Episode 339]
The biggest crime the Clinton’s ever pulled off was convincing minorities that they had their support. Today we’re gonna take a look at how the gay community rallies to defend the Clinton’s and yet historically the Clinton’s have been the cause of major setbacks for that community. And I have a big surprise for you at the end of this video. So stay tuned and Enjoy!
You’re probably thinking right now; is he really going to bash Hillary Clinton on gay rights. After all she’s a democrat and democrats notoriously support the gay community.
Well actually, that’s a complete misnomer. The democrats have become incredibly proficient at pandering to select segmentations of the American audience. They say their pro-gay, pro-choice, increased education and employment in urban areas only after public opinion has moved voters in that direction.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying the Republicans are good for the gay community. I’m not an idiot. Right now the Republican party is being held hostage by hateful right wing homophobic evangelicals who force their agenda into the primaries leading to forced acceptance by anyone running for Republican office to their right wing nutso-facto agenda.
The Clinton’s however dress themselves up as pro-gay only when it suits them and then begrudgingly. Had Hillary Clinton won against Barack Obama we would not have gay marriage today. In fact I suspect Hillary would have aligned her LGBT stance to be more in line with a moderate Republican than the left leaning legacy Obama is leaving us with today.
Need a reminder on what the Clinton’s did against the gay community? Let’s start with DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, which Hillary Clinton actively supported and was passed by her husband President Bill Clinton in 1996. That law barred federal recognition of same-sex marriage. Now today, both Bill and Hillary swear their decision to support this horrendous piece of legislation was to stem the tide of something far worse coming down the path. That “something worse” according to the Clinton’s was an attempt by the republican’s to amend the constitution to prevent gay marriage.
Unfortunately, the timeline doesn’t work in their favor. Both Elizabeth Birch the executive director of the Human Rights Campaign from 1995 to 2004 and Evan Wolfson, founder and president of the Freedom to Marry organization both confirmed there was no threat in the immediate vicinity of 1996 for a constitutional amendment focused on gay marriage. That came four years after DOMA was already enacted.
The truth is the day after DOMA cleared the House, White House press secretary Mike McCurry said President Bill Clinton believed that the underlying position in the bill was right. Only now are they backpedaling because history didn’t wind up on their side.
Next up, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Remember that one. Yeah that was under the Clinton administration too. Signed on February 28th, 1994 Don’t Ask Don’t Tell saw the military discharge over 13,000 troops prior to its repeal by President Obama in 2011. And that doesn’t even begin to count the number of potential new recruits who saw what was happening and decided the military wasn’t for them.
November 2002 when Chris Matthew’s asked then New York State Senator Hillary Clinton point blank “Do you think New York state should recognize gay marriage? And she gave a one word response. “No”.
July 2004 speaking again as Senator from New York Mrs. Clinton said: “I believe that marriage is not just a bond but a sacred bond between a man and woman. I have had occasion in my life to defend marriage. To stand up for marriage.” Of course this comment is in reference to Bill’s infidelity with Monica Lewinski and God knows how many other women.
Even when public opinion was clearly changing in 2010 when she was Secretary of State, she said “The issue of same sex marriage is a matter left to each state. I have not supported same sex ma
