Everlasting Life and Blissful Joy- Satcha Slade
In Sanskrit, the name Satchadananda means, “Everlasting life and blissful joy.” Once upon a time on the beautiful island of O’ahu, there lived a little multi-ethnic girl, named Satchadananda. She carried a powerful and unique name with a beautiful meaning. Satchadananda, who was also called “Satcha” for short; would soon come to know, that both her name and strength, would be put to the test.
Satcha did not experience a typical childhood. Her father ruled with an unruly, iron fist. She was often locked in closets, starved & beaten. Tears and blood would flow down her pretty mother’s face almost on a daily basis after being beaten. When the beatings became too much to bare, her mother took all four children and found refuge in a broken down car. One day CPS workers and police seized all four kids and placed them in the foster care system. Satcha was now in the care of an angry, money hungry, woman. When Satcha was four years old, CPS workers learned her foster mom was starving her. She was removed, and placed from one hell to another. In her second foster “home” Satcha would endure years of sexual abuse, beatings, as well as constant insults; made to feel worthless. Through all the struggles and darkness, Satcha has overcome her trials through prayer and a relationship with Christ.
Her past has molded her into becoming a strong, independent woman and accomplished mother of two amazing boys; ages seventeen and eight. She now resides in beautiful Kaneohe. She loves her career as a flight attendant at Hawaiian Airlines. Her name proved to be true. As many times as she has been knocked down, her faith and hope in Christ, picks her back up again. Like her name, she radiates blissful joy, in her home and where ever her travels may take her.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.”
