John Donne was an English poet who was born in the early 1570s and lived til 1631. He lived through the Spanish Armada, Shakespeare's career, the publishing of the King James Bible in 1611, and lived under 3 monarchs: Elizabeth l, James l, and Charles l.

In this beautiful poem, he taunts death much like the apostle Paul does in 1 Corinthians 15 in the Bible. Enjoy! Thank you for listening.
