Although in this story I was a church youth group volunteer / leader in my early twenties in Nashville — I was definitely a huge CLIENT of such activities in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This would been the late 80s / early 90s). My memories of it all remain incredibly cheesy / goofy / grand.

There’s something about American teen devotion — excess — suburbanism — and everything being ON THE LINE — that make youth group experiences unforgettable. Okay, I’m talking about myself… But I wonder if this story is in some way familiar to your own.
