I am excited to have Dr. Roger Smith with me today. Roger has been practicing Internal and Pediatric Medicine since 1989, and he was recently chosen as the Louisiana Rural Doctor of the Year. Roger and his wife Jan are the parents of 4 grown children that they homeschooled from kindergarten through high school, and they now have 6 grandchildren. They have served on the board of the Louisiana Homeschool Association and the NCFCA board—a Christian homeschool debate league. Roger recently authored his first book Parenting with Influence: Shifting Your Parenting Style as You and Your Children Grow.

In this episode, Roger and I discuss some of the ideas and stories from his book Parenting with Influence, including how to lead your children to grow to be independent and to lead the next generation after you.We will also hear personal stories on how Roger’s kids wanted to be entrepreneurs and taught them business responsibilities at a young age.
