The Women's Podcast
Ep 170 Irish Women in the Middle Ages
We have a very interesting man - yes, sometimes we have men on the podcast - taking us way back in time to Ireland's medieval history in this episode. Oxford Professor and author, Thomas Charles Edwards, was in Dublin a few weeks ago to deliver a lecture at the School of Celtic studies in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. Professor Edwards knows a lot about Ireland's ancient laws, which turn out to be quite progressive when it comes to gender equality and women's property rights. He came into studio while he was here to tell us all about those laws and the lives of Irish women during the 7th and 8th centuries.
