The Owl

The owl sees clearly, even at night. It quiet and mysterious. It flies on wings specially adapted to be silent when flying so that its prey does not hear it coming. Most important to the owl is the intuition and wisdom to hunt in places where it can find food.

The owl spirit comes to tell you to be wise in where and what you do. Not everything in front of you, beckoning for your attention will be beneficial to you. Use owl like intuition to read between the lines, pay attention to contracts and what you sign that obligates you to commitments that may not be right for you.

Just because others have signed quickly or accepted responsibilities and obligations does not mean that you need to do the same. We have free will and that gives you the possibility to do good, not so good, or nothing. You have only so much energy to accept obligations use your energy wisely and on what benefits you. You do not have to be like everyone else, be yourself, uniquely yourself.

Trust in yourself, your intuition, your wisdom and a clear mind to make the right decision and only accept obligations that are beneficial to you.

Wind

Wind is air. Air is one of the Five Elements important to a Shaman and Shamanic Tradition. It is a unique element. It is all around us yet we cannot see it, touch it and is the medium that keeps us alive and allows us to speak, sing, laugh, communicate and spread our ideas and wisdom. It allows us to experience and to be heard.

Just as we can be heard through the air, so are things brought to us by it. Bird song, the whispers of a partner or a pet and music. But air, the wind, also brings the opposite, anger, distrust, and violence.

The wind may blow gently as a whisper or like a Tornado. You can stand with your back to it and try to resist it or turn and face and feel the message that wind is sending you.

The wind always means change. In nature the wind blows down branches and trees that are dead or weak. It may even blow down homes and buildings that are unsound. It is your challenge this week to understand what the wind is blowing down. Why it is blowing the way it is, and what is dead or weak in your life.

Depending on how you are attached to what is leaving your life, your existence, the wind may be blowing gently, encouraging you, or like a storm and sweeping away things violently. The more you hold in to what needs to leave the stronger the wind will blow and the greater the force it will apply.

Do not hold on to what you do not need, what no longer serves you. Be prepared for the calm and clarity of fresh air after a storm, good things are coming.

Eagle

The sun rises in the east and that is the direction from which the Eagle comes into your life. The Eagle is a predator, it soars high in the sky, looking down on the earth for prey and sustenance. It has powerful vision to see the smallest creature but it also sees the big picture, it takes in the entire landscape with one movement of its head.

It securely nests in the mountains and the tall trees; above all it is successful in the hunt and bringing a new generation of itself into being for us to enjoy and wonder at. From its high vantage, on a thermal of air, a tall tree or a mountain it sees the world as a place of abundance and opportunity.

If you cannot see the abundance and new opportunities around you, have you become focused on your feet? Your feet connect you to the earth, they ground you. But the eagle comes to invite you to soar as it does and to see the bigger picture of your life.

2020 was a year when we focused on what we should not be doing. 2021 is better but not free of obligations and limitations placed on us by the pandemic.

Yet the eagle comes to tell us to lift our heads, look at the opportunities and plan to take charge. Even if there were no pandemic, there would still be challenges to overcome do you have the education you need, do you have the money, do you have the time, do you have the inner drive to achieve? Now is the time to take action and make things happen in preparation for a time when things will be freer and open to allow you to achieve your goals.

Queen of the Moon Oracle Card – Hunger

Hunger is not about our stomachs, it is about what is inside of us, what motivates us, what we enjoy and what we do not.

Today, just as in the ancient past there are white shamans, shamans who spoke to the beneficial spirits of the community, and of each person. They learn from them and practise for the good of all. The opposite of white shamans you guessed it, are black Shamans. Black Shamans also exist and practice today. Black shamans speak to and learn from malevolent spirits.

It is time for you to look within yourself and see who you are. What is your intention. Who do you learn from and why? Are your actions “white” or “black” in nature and by design. Do you take pleasure in building and creating or do you seek to tear down and destroy?

This period of self-reflection coincides with the growth that is all around you. Take some time to decide who you are inside, and who you listen to. Is there a disconnect? If there is remedy it, change what is discordant. But above all, accept that what you listen to will control your experience if life and this world.
