The Outdoors Show
OS 1341: Rainy Days, Good Books, Loud Music & Great Stories
Well, when it’s raining too much to fish, and the woods are too wet to get ready…you put together big plans for a huge show!
The guys were loaded for bear on this episode, welcoming in author Monte Burke to talk about some of his incredible books (see the links below to get your copies). Monte is a top-shelf storyteller, so this chat alone is worth the price of admission. But that wasn’t the only highlight: Paul Wane, leader of the band Duval County Line (check them out HERE on Spotify), checked in to talk about his second appearance at (Tr)Everbank Field for the Jaguars’ home opener. He’s playing the Star Spangled Banner once again, but this time, he’s playing it on a VERY special guitar…he tells the guys all about it, and share the info about his great new non-profit organization for kids.
And if that wasn’t enough, the guys shared an unbelievable story about Adam Triay from All Aluminum Concepts and his HUGE creature lovingly named, “MyBuck”. You do not want to miss this story!
- Here’s your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week: Great books by Monte Burke! Excellent additions to the outdoorsman’s library!
- Sowbelly: The Obsessive Quest for the World-Record Largemouth Bass is a great one!
- Lords of the Fly: Madness, Obsession, and the Hunt for the World Record Tarpon is Jeff’s favorite!
- Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: Even if it’s a big, goofy pair of sunglasses like Capt. Leon wears, make sure you have something in the boat to protect your eyes when you’re running in the rain!
- Here’s your KirbyCo Builders, Inc cooking tip of the week from Jeff (who else would offer this one up?): It’s that time of year again…get yer pumpkin spice fix with coffees, creamers, and all kinds of fu-fu stuff!
