The MMA Report: Yancy Medeiros and Justin Gonzales

April 20, 2022

It’s been another eventful week in the world of mixed martial arts and the guys kick off this episode by discussing the comments UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling made last week about John McCarthy. The guys discuss their takeaways from the comments and then get into PFL CEO Peter Murray giving a statement about the scandal that hit the PFL earlier this month following a tape-delay broadcast by the promotion.

Up next, the guys get into what happened last weekend at Bellator 277 and UFC Vegas 51. Some of the topics they touch on include how they would book the top of the UFC welterweight division, how they scored AJ McKee vs. Patricio Pitbull, and whether or not Corey Anderson is now the best light heavyweight in MMA.

Then it’s the first of two interviews on this edition of the podcast as Jason speaks with Yancy Medeiros (interview starts at 33:03 mark) about his Bellator debut on Saturday against Emmanuel Sanchez. Following the conversation with Medeiros, the guys begin to preview this week’s Bellator 278, Bellator 279, and UFC Vegas 51. They tell you what they consider the best fights of the weekend, what fight’s are going under the radar, and you will hear the conversation Jason had with Justin Gonzales (interview starts at 55:13 mark) about his featherweight bout at Bellator 279 against Kai Kamaka III.

After the conversation with Gonzales, the guys wrap up the show by discussing upcoming UFC cards and more. Thanks for downloading and listening to this episode of The MMA Report Podcast and if you like what you heard, we would appreciate leaving a rating and review on Apple Podcasts.
