BFM Episode 3: The Real Power of Listening and Curiosity | Soness Stevens

November 03, 2015

Soness Stevens is a force to be reckoned with! She’s a multimedia guru who, for the last 19 years, has been working her tail off in the communications space, teaching presentation skills and how to engage with audiences.

From the outside in, it’s easy to think she’s the super bold, fearless, outgoing person who’s always on. I mean, she’s a dynamic speaker that engages audiences all around the world. On a given day, you might see the Florida native riding around the streets of Tokyo, Japan on her skateboard in her business suit.

Her resume includes television host for FOX in Japan, head speaker coach for TEDx Kyoto, international speaker, author, communications professor, the official English-speaking voice of Hello Kitty, and the list goes on. However, what you may not realize at first glance, is that, while Soness enjoys connecting with thousands on stage and online, she’d much rather have her nose in a good book.

She founded her company, Show-N-Tell.us, to help TEDx speakers, techies, and introverts become engaging presenters both online and on stage.

We cover a broad range of topics in our conversation, but at the heart of it, Soness shares some practical wisdom on how to connect authentically and listen so people will talk. She also shares a phenomenal resource with the Built For More listeners to help introverts to get their ideas to spread through speaking on stage or online.

It’s a virtual course that lasts 7 days, and within that time, she’s had students booking paid speaking engagements.
