014 Aaron Peña: In it for the long haul

Better Leaders Better Schools guest Aaron Peña has been an educator for 18 years, 12 of which have been in administration at the elementary and secondary levels. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in education from Baylor University and his master’s degree in education administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake. He is currently working on his doctoral degree at the University of Texas at Austin. 
Aaron has obtained many awards for his work in educational leadership including the Johnny Veselka Texas Association of School Administrators Award, the Exemplary Instructional Leadership Award from the Cooperative Superintendents Program at UT Austin, and is the current HEB Excellence in Education Texas Principal of the Year.
Aaron has a passion for working with all students but enjoys working in suburban environments going through the urbanization process. He has a beautiful wife who is also an educator and three lovely daughters, 10, 11, and 13.
