With so many people missing tektalk5 we decided this week to include some tech stories in Geekout. Enjoy !

We start the week with the announcement that Windows 8.1 will hit the streets in October, and that it will be free. Some people out threr do think that we should be renumerated for enduring the embarrassment that is windows 8, but I don’t want to get off on a rant here. windows 8 is fine.. once you get used to it. there has been a ground swell of negativism towards this operating system and not always deserved.
