The Department of Homeland Security was set up, strict anti-terrorism laws were passed and immigration gaps were closed. All of the weak links in the nation's security chain were tightened - except for one big one. Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, a Republican, and Juliette Kayyem, a Democrat and former Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs in the Department of Homeland Security, have joined together in a new national security project called Americans for Securing all Packages (ASAP).
