Talk Is Sheep

From Sturgeon to Bighorns: The Impact of the Jurassic Classic
The Wild Sheep Jurassic Classic is truly an experience like no other. This past August, 56 conservation-minded anglers joined us on the Fraser River to raise funds for wild sheep. Beyond the camaraderie, fresh air, and world-class sturgeon fishing, the event is about something bigger—coming together to celebrate and support our wild sheep resource.
Over the years, the Jurassic Classic has generated more than half a million dollars for wild sheep conservation, with a major focus on the Fraser River California Bighorn project. These efforts have played a pivotal role in restoring Bighorns just a few hundred miles upstream.
In this episode, we sit down with Colin Peters and James Mitton, both deeply involved in making this fundraiser a success. With three Wild Sheep Society Directors also on the cast, we share a behind-the-scenes look at what’s ahead for the Society over the coming months—offering listeners a sneak peek into the latest conservation initiatives underway.
