Talk Is Sheep
The Weatherby Legacy with Adam Weatherby
We sit down with Weatherby President and CEO Adam Weatherby to talk rifles, sheep hunting, family, legacy and more. Adam is the third generation Weatherby to lead the company, one that started out by his grandfather Roy, as an ammunition manufacturer. Adam, has elevated the company to new heights, relocating from their Southern California origins to Sheridan, Wyoming. They have moved into a state of the art facility and grown to well over 100 employees all in the midst of a global pandemic.
Adam talks about legacy, innovation, family and his work in the Ministry as a youth pastor. We dive into Adam's favorite rifle and caliber, his role as the CEO, the involvement of his wife Brenda plays as Vice-President and the role his kids have played. Adam reflects on his childhood and touches on the succession from the first generation to the second and then how he came to run the company.
We take the opportunity to talk about Adam's favorite hunts and of course dive in to his trip to the Yukon to harvest a magnificent ram. He ended up with a bonus connecting on a big wolf and then in the closing hours of the trip, Brenda was able to harvest the largest Caribou taken in the Yukon for that year.
This is a great visit with a conservation minded individual that values family and community. We touch on the generosity of the Weatherby brand and why supporting conservation is an organizational ethos.
