I am just back from a delicious three-week trip to the United Kingdom, to see my gorgeous friend get married and a side trip adventure to Scotland. It was wonderful. My husband and I ate cream tea, drank whiskey in bars, explored castles and did long beautiful drives (as well as picked up some cool new sayings along the way).

I am someone who, probably much like you, finds a lot of meaning, new perspectives, inspiration, energy, flow and mindfulness through travel and adventure. Travel makes you rich in memory and experience. And because we’re getting to the end of the year, when things get a little bit frantic, this is your reminder to book yourself a holiday.

There are two reasons for this. First up - you need to front-load, that is, put the things you know you need to take care of yourself into your calendar before you start committing to everything else. Make your business and career work around your life, not life work around your business. Second, is the s-word - space (not sleep, though I’m guessing you might need that too).

Even better, guess what?! Taking holidays actually makes you money. I take you through the five reasons it actually gives back more than what you invest in it.

Rest is one of the greatest acts of rebellion and I take this very very seriously. It is a non-negotiable aspect of life in business. By the end of this episode, you will understand why.
