The campus shooting spree at Michigan State University two weeks ago has campus security people across America evaluating their plans and procedures for dealing with something similar on their campuses. At IU in Bloomington, security people say they have plans in place if anything like that happens on any IU campus, but they admit it's more about response than prevention. Public access is the rule on most college campuses, with little or no way to stop anyone from getting onto the property or into many buildings.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was in Ukraine Monday, making an unannounced trip to Kyiv a week after President Biden's surprise visit. She announced a transfer of $1.25 billion in her meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, part of a $45 billion package Congress passed in December. Yellen says the U.S. can’t allow Ukraine to lose the war because of “economic reasons” when they’re making so much progress on the battlefield.

A New Jersey congressman wants airlines to get rid of surprise costs for travelers. Congressman Josh Gottheimer urges the Transportation Department to force airlines to show the full price of a plane ticket upfront. This after President Biden took aim at "junk fees" across all industries in his State of the Union address.

A big question for Notre Dame women's basketball this week is the health of starting point guard Olivia Miles, who hurt her knee in Sunday's regular season-ending win over Louisville. The Irish play Friday in the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Irish football has apparently poached offensive line coach Joe Rudolph from Virginia Tech. Reports are the deal is being finalized this week.

Despite Sunday's home loss to Indiana, Purdue remains number five in this week's AP College Basketball poll. Indiana moves up two spots to 15th. The Hoosiers host Iowa tonight in Bloomington.

Hockey: the Chicago Blackhawks lost at Ahaheim, 4-to-2. The Detroit Redwings lost at Ottawa, 6-to-2.
