A Conversation About: Marvel’s Daredevil - A Diagnostic Impression

In this episode host Xiomara A. Sosa and co-host JRoc discuss their opinions about the character Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil from the Marvel’s Series. 

JRoc discusses his views on the main character and the series in general as Xiomara provides her mental health related thoughts about the character. 

She also provides her diagnostic impression and discusses the reasons for it. 

Matt Murdock is an attorney by day who was blinded as a child after a tragic accident. At night he is a vigilante who uses his heightened senses as his other persona known as Daredevil to fight crime. 

These two personas are discussed and analyzed. Matt the attorney believes in the criminal justice system to help him chase social justice while his alter ego Daredevil does not. He takes the law into his own hands because he believes he is protecting his neighborhood and communities. 

JRoc and Xiomara discuss the issues that might have brought these 2 personas together and the mental health implications they bring about as a result. 

In addition, they provide resources and references that listeners can refer to if they need to explore this or other topics further. They also encourage listeners to support loved ones or coworkers who are experiencing mental health challenges. They provide examples on how listeners can support others while appropriately maintaining their own boundaries and protecting their own mental health and wellbeing.
