Studio MAP - Michael Ali Photography Podcast
Death, Headshots and Turkey
This is going to be one of the weirdest blogs/podcasts that we have done in the past couple of years, but believe me, it is worth it to read/listen to this.
A couple weeks ago a friend of Camille’s passed away, and when she went to read the obituary, there was only a photo of him DJing days at the club. So Camille and I decided to do a short podcast on the importance of having a decent headshot, even for your family. Now these days, in the Web 3.0 world that we live in, it is more important than ever to have a head shot of yourself, and when I say headshot I am speaking of one that is presentable and useable; not the one of yourself in a club, bar, sporting event or even a “selfie.”
The reason is that when we do pass away, we want to make sure that we leave our loved ones pictures that can be used for people to pay proper respect to them. Over the years I have seen people that have passed on but when it comes time for the services, there is no recent or even decent photo of the dearly departed that can be used. Now you want to ask yourself, “is this even worth my time?” The answer is yes…
You want to in your life whether it is with a smartphone or even your point-and-shoot to at least take a decent headshot that can be used. Now the last thing that you want is that someone is using your drivers license or even your passport photo. So do yourself a favor and get out there and at least get either some professional headshots done or even have some available just in case.
