–Houseguest fakes a haunting, and bilks the homeowners out of over $64,000 to get rid of the “ghost.” Yes, there can be harm in paranormal belief systems.

–Colleagues of Dr. Mehmet Oz are trying to get him canned by Columbia University. It’s a nice thought, but the university is sticking with him, citing academic freedom.

–Recommendations: Both Bobby and Jason are recommending books by Jon Ronson today. Bobby’s pick is “The Psychopath Test,” while Jason goes with “Them: Adventures With Extremists.”

–And speaking of Jon Ronson, he has a new book out now about public shaming. How ironic that he becomes a victim of public shaming almost immediately after publication for something not even in his book!

–Rebecca Francis infuriated people by shooting a giraffe dead, and then posing for a “glamor photo” with the body. We’ve seen these kinds of things before. Is there something wrong with these people?

–Here’s something fun: Neil Tyson and Bill Nye have a minor disagreement over the phrase “meteoric rise” on Twitter. We discuss each of their comments, and declare a victor.

–Questions: Are police surveillance cameras an invasion of privacy? What about red light cameras? Should they be removed? We discuss the privacy concerns associated with law enforcement surveillance.
