–Armed man kills 12 people at Navy Yard in Washington, DC.  We try to make sense of this latest tragedy, and examine the latest developments.

–The first Indian-American woman is crowned Miss America.  So, of course, a barrage of racist, xenophobic tweets flood the internet.

–In brighter news, we recap our trip to the 12th Annual Mothman Festival, where we visited once again with our friend Nick Callis.  Did we meet any new and interesting people?  Get any photos with folks who pooped their pants or had track marked legs like last year?

In the 2nd hour, Dr. Karen Stollznow joined us to discuss the strange and unusual religious beliefs and practices as outlined in her forthcoming book, “God Bless America.”
