Episode 224 - A conversation with Vince Wilson

January 20, 2013

While we don’t review paranormal “reality” shows much any more, we just had to say a few words about “Ghost Mine,” the new series starring Patrick Doyle, our friend and a guy who has been on SFR a variety of times.  Unfortunately, there was much we didn’t like and we explain why.  From there, we also got into President Obama’s recent gun control measures he put forth and the reactions they have spawned from those on the political right (including the NRA’s decision to launch a first person shooter game and the first Gun Appreciation Day – with all-new accidental gun injuries!).  Plus, Steven Novella destroys another tired attack on the JREF Million Dollar Challenge…and what’s this about a James Randi documentary?!?  Finally, just because we like weird news AND to gross people out, there was this story about fecal transplants.  Now, who’s hungry?

In our second hour, we spoke to paranormal investigator and ghost gadget guru Vince Wilson.  Among the topics we discussed with him was whether or not paranormal believers and skeptics are accomplishing much by “preaching to the choir,” as well as getting his general thoughts on the current paranormal landscape.  Of course, as two radio hosts and indie paramag contributors who constantly preach conversation, this was right up our alley.  Hear Vince’s criticisms of both the paranormal and skeptical sides and see where we agreed and where we disagreed.  All in all, a productive conversation worth checking out!
