07-13-14 “A High Yield Seed Grounded in the Gospel†Seminarian John Sosnowski
Jesus said, “Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some 100 fold, some 60, some 30. He who has ears let him hear. “ (Matthew 13:8-9).
The image of seed is prevalent throughout the Old Testament, and is often used to symbolize the people of God. Jesus uses this image as he explains to his disciples the meaning of the “Parable of the Sowerâ€. Here Jesus says there is only one type of good “seed/soil†combination where the hearing and understanding of God’s word yields such a supernatural increase. If we are the people of God, Dear St. Michaels , what is it that might enable us to be more that type of Seed and Soil?
