Alan Hynes (CEO of Catholic Education Partnership) speaks to Wendy about The Department of Education’s newly published specifications for the Social, Personal, and Health Education (SPHE) curriculum for Senior Cycle in secondary schools. The changes will become mandatory from September 2027 and includes Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE).  Alan speaks about what’s changing in the curriculum, and how there is concern about what’s been left out in the curriculum which excludes any mention of marriage, long-term commitments or parenting.
