Spark My Muse
Eps 138: The Rewards of Measuring Spiritual Experience, Guest Lynn Underwood, PhD
Dr Lynn Underwood, PhD developed a tool that helps *quantify* spiritual experiences for people of any culture, background, religion, faith (or no religious belief). It's been used all over the world and aided in over 300 Scientific studies. It's also been used for many years by social workers, therapists, social scientists, health professionals, aid workers, counselors, and ministries, the world over too.
Many studies reveal that the higher one rates on the scale (DSES) the less they struggle with Post Traumatic Stress, anxiety and depression, addictions, and burnout. These same people also act as a stress buffer for others as well.
Today, we talk about this tool and the book she wrote (Spiritual Connection in Daily Life: 16 Little Questions That Make a Big Difference) for readers to self-report our experiences using this same tool, so we can move toward a more connected, healthy, meaningful, and spiritually enriched life.
This time Bonus Material will include not just ways to reach Lynn, links to her book and work, images of her artwork (she's also a talented artist), but also bonus AUDIO not available to the public. Lynn reveals what she is working on NOW. It is not related to DSES, but it will be extremely useful to people in times of difficulty and stress.
