I managed to record another episode on my own, and the topic of it is shame. It’ll drop sometime this weekend, I believe. The reason it occurred to me to pick shame as a topic was a quote that I may not be recalling correctly verbatim, but the spirit of it remains intact:
“Shame derives its power from going unspoken.”
The truth behind that statement, to me and in my experience, is astounding. The relief I gained access to in recovery regarding those things I’d rather not have discussed at the time was worth its weight in gold.
