February 21, 2017

CAUTION: Contains mild spoilers for S1 & S2 of VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER Andy Farnsworth talks about the Netflix revival of the 1980's classic cartoon "Voltron" with Tysen Webb & Adam Thomas. The new Voltron has more similarities to the old series than differences, but one of the biggest upgrades has been ditching the monster-of-the-week format for more extended storytelling.  It feels like a Voltron written with a grown-up in mind, but done in a way that kids can still enjoy it. Andy has a lot of questions at the end of the 24 episodes so far.  And find out which Saturday Night Live sketch from the 2000's kept popping up in his head every time he heard Princess Allura speak. Dreamworks and Netflix's VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER features the voices of Josh Keaton as Shiro, Tyler Labine as Hunk, Jeremy Shada as Lance, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Pidge, Steven Yeun as Keith, and Kimberly Brooks as Princess Allura.   The series was written by Tim Hedrick (Avatar: The Last Airbender); produced by Joaquim dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Avatar: The Last Airbender; Legend of Korra); and animated by Studio Mir
