Be my Martian valentine - "The Space Between Us" review (spoilers)

February 03, 2017

(Warning: Spoilers in this podcast for "The Space Between Us") Andy Farnsworth reviews THE SPACE BETWEEN US starring Asa Butterfield (ENDER'S GAME), Britt Robertson (TOMORROWLAND, MOTHER'S DAY), Gary Oldman (DARK KNIGHT, HARRY POTTER) and Carla Gugino (SPY KIDS, WAYWARD PINES). What if you were the only human NEVER to have set foot on planet Earth?  What's your favorite thing ABOUT Earth?  Those are some of the intriguing questions asked in this new teenage romance disguised as a sci-fi movie. Butterfield plays Gardner Elliott, born secretly on Mars to an astronaut mother who died during childbirth.  16 years later he's going to Earth, in large part to meet a girl named Tulsa (Robertson)--someone with whom he's been FaceTiming from Mars, without telling her where he actually is. Andy says teens will like this movie best, and so will older viewers who check their cynicism at the door--even if you can predict a lot of what is going to happen.
