Edward Jones Principal Patty Carter leads Branch Team Strategy, the team responsible for defining the roles and responsibilities for branch teams now and in the future as Edward Jones evolves to continue to exceed client expectations. Branch Team Strategy partners with other areas to ensure individuals with the proper skill sets and abilities are hired and receive the tailored performance support to succeed in their roles and build strong branch teams that can significantly impact their communities.
Patty began her career with Edward Jones in 1993 as a branch office specialist. The following year, she began a 20-year career as a financial advisor in North Carolina. During her tenure as a financial advisor, she significantly expanded the firm’s presence in Raleigh and ensured her clients had a positive experience while helping new financial advisors get a strong start by completing eight asset-sharing programs.
As a financial advisor, Patty embraced the Edward Jones spirit of volunteerism and served in numerous regional leadership roles, including field trainer, performance leader and visiting veteran. She was named a regional leader in 2009. Over the next three years, she supported and guided roughly 60 branch teams in Raleigh and helped grow the number of financial advisors, assets under care and households deeply served. She also helped identify and develop leaders in her region.
In 2012, Patty was named an Edward Jones principal and began serving as a field-based area leader, helping multiple regions achieve their unique objectives. She relocated to the firm’s St. Louis headquarters in 2014 to continue her work as a home-office area leader. Patty assumed responsibility for Financial Advisor Talent Acquisition – East in 2018 and her current responsibilities in October 2020.
Patty earned a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University.
She’s married to Britt and has two grown children. She loves spending time with her family and dogs.
