I Quietly Closed My Inner Circle Mastermind: Here's Why
There's something very empowering about making intentional decisions in your business, especially when those decisions involve closing something that's been successful for years.
It dawned on me recently that I may have forgotten to mention that I quietly closed my Inner Circle Mastermind. Bringing in a consistent $10k a month and being a container that I absolutely loved, why would I close it down?
If you're looking to scale your business, there are some valuable insights here about the art of strategic pruning and why sometimes the best growth decision is actually doubling down and being very intentional about where you spend your time.
Why Close Something That's Working?
I created the Inner Circle Mastermind for the women who joined my very first mastermind six years ago. It was a cherished space for my long term clients and it evolved into a tight knit group that felt more like family. Although this was wonderful, it did make it feel a little odd to bring anyone new into such an intimate group, meaning that the mastermind wasn’t scalable.
But the decision to close wasn’t about revenue. After I had Sunnie, I had to become even more intentional with where I spent my time. Maintaining this intimate group that I wasn’t able to scale was taking away time that I could have been spending with her.
Choosing Intention Over Attachment
It became very clear to me that the right thing to do was to close the mastermind and offer those clients the opportunity to work with me privately. And it was absolutely the right thing to do - it’s worked out perfectly.
A valuable lesson here is that just because you love something, doesn’t mean you have to have it in your business. At the same time, scaling doesn't necessitate an overhaul of everything that works. It's about refining your focus and doubling down on your true strengths.
Now, my focus is the Scalable Freedom Mastermind—the one mastermind currently shaping my business. This model generates substantial recurring revenue between $50K to $100K each month, allowing me to scale up or down as I need.
Time as Your True Currency
For me, doubling down on one mastermind feels like the perfect balance of being able to scale and grow my business as I please while having a deeply fulfilling personal life and being the present, devoted mama that I want to be.
The courage to make intentional changes, even when they involve closing something you love, often creates the space for what's truly meant to be next. If you're feeling stretched thin or holding onto parts of your business that no longer serve your bigger vision, I encourage you to get honest about where your time and energy could yield the most aligned results. Sometimes the most powerful business decision isn't about adding more—it's about choosing less, but choosing better.
