My guest this episode is Haley Reese. By profession, she is a holistic health and happiness coach. Haley talks about her experience of saying “YES” to her own happiness. She says she suffered from depression and anxiety for most of her life. She felt like happiness was something very natural for people around her and came to them automatically but for her it was circumstantial. Haley was in talk therapy from a very young age of 4 years but it never helped her changed the level of happiness for herself. In college, she lost her best friend who committed suicide. That was the turning point for Haley. That is when she decided, she had to control her own happiness and said “YES”.
Haley discusses how she was able to control her own happiness. She also shares the difficulties, doubts and resistance she faced in this journey. Haley also believes that to achieve complete happiness is somewhat a dream and one cannot be happy all the time. However, you should always stay positive and look at the bright side. Haley says her life has greatly transformed because of saying “YES” to happiness. She says her overall life quality is much better than what it used to be. She is now filled with motivation, self-love, hope and inspiration. These feelings would not appear for her before, sometimes for days, sometimes for weeks and sometimes for months.
