Vegetable Garden Tips:

Sow: Southern peas, sweet potatoes, and succession squash

Start fall brassicas indoors

Pest alerts: squash vine borers, aphids, tomato hornworms

Flower Garden Tips:

Deadhead for continued flowering

Mulch & deep water to beat the heat

Fruit Garden Tips:

Harvest blackberries, blueberries, peaches & plums

Thin fruit to prevent damage

Protect with netting & watch for disease

Herb Garden Tips:

Harvest rosemary, thyme, basil & more

Pinch basil to prevent flowering

Start a second round of basil & dill

General Maintenance:

Stay ahead of weeds

Water wisely & monitor for stress

Use shade cloth & cover crops like buckwheat or Red Ripper peas to improve soil and suppress weeds
