What Government Can Learn from AIDS Activists

More than a decade ago, Celeste Watkins-Hayes, Professor of Sociology and African American Studies and Faculty Fellow at the Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University, began interviewing women with HIV and AIDS living in Chicago. The result of that massive research effort will be published on August 20th as Remaking A Life: How Women Living with HIV/AIDS Confront Inequality. For this week’s podcast we spoke with Dr. Watkins-Hayes to talk about her research, the book, and the surprising conclusions she arrived at.
