Portland's Ruth Wariner grew up in a polygamist community in northern Mexico, her father's 39th child. Her father was murdered when she was just three months old, and her mother remarried another polygamist who made Ruth's life a living hell. Ruth will be reading from her new memoir, The Sound of Gravel, Tuesday, Jan 12th at Third Place Books in Ravenna.
