This is Renegade Files Episode 80, Sasquatch and Bigfoot: East Coast / West Coast Beef.

Anyone who has looked into the Sasquatch phenomenon knows about the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film, and it’s star, affectionately known as Patty, who glanced over her shoulder in the famous home movie frame 352 to become an icon of Bigfoot Lore forever.

The Patterson-Gimlin footage ignited a nation-wide frenzy of Bigfoot searches, sightings, and debates and the majority of this activity, in the early years, was focused on the American Northwest; our debut star having come to us from the Bluff Creek area of Del Norte County California.

And while the vast forests of Cascadia may have given us the lion’s share of Sasquatch reports, the fact is that ape-like cryptids have been reported in every state. In fact, reports of such creatures from the East Coast have risen to rival some of the bast tales from the Northwest.

In this episode of Renegade Files we will explore the misty Blue Ridge Mountains, the humid swamps of Florida, and many woodland locations along the Eastern US corridors in search of Sasquatch Stories from credible witnesses.

We’ll analyze how Bigfoot Sightings in the East differ from those more traditional encounters we all grew up on from the West, while also considering how this humanoid cryptid changes as we move from South to North. In doing so, you may be surprised at how these variations actually combine to lend credence, and perhaps even evidence for the existence of one of the world’s most famous elusive beast.
