What is LuLaRoe?

DeAnne Brady and husband Mark Stidham founded LuLaRoe in 2012. It’s currently based in Corona, California. The genesis of LuLaRoe, DeAnne says, is her own experience sewing a skirt for her daughter - a “struggling mother...launched LuLaRoe with a vision to help others succeed...through grit and determination”, its website reads. The company’s name ‘LuLaRoe’ represents the names of three of DeAnne’s grandchildren. Aside from the seemingly sweet story of a struggling housewife wishing to help others succeed, LuLaRoe’s appeal also came from the promise of working from home at your own hours.

DeAnne comes from a large Mormon family, like her husband Simon. Together, they have fourteen children (some adopted). Media reports indicate that at least five of their adult children joined their parents in the business and actually held management positions despite their limited business management skills or experience.
