Within a few years, he built a successful mortgage company and real estate investment company. His early entrepreneurial success gave him the resources to begin angel investing, and he later co-founded Clout, a Los Angeles-based fintech start-up. Benson also spent eight years in the Air Force National Guard, where he graduated top of his class from the Military Police Academy. Benson’s post-9/11 overseas tours solidified his interpersonal skills for building rapport with a diverse range of people. Benson earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in computer information systems.
