Holding The High Line, a Colorado Rapids Podcast
Ep. 24: With Confidence!?
Hello Rapids Fans! The Rapids got another win over the weekend? Rabbi and Red are here to break everything down and make sense of this newfound sense of confidence(?). We do Good Thing, Bad Thing, Big Thing on the win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The guys then take a look at the Seattle Sounders FC and Montreal Impact FC matches this coming week.
We also have a very special and nerdy interview in the second half of the episode. Matt sits down for an interview with John Eric Goff, Professor of Physics at the University of Lynchburg and author of Gold Medal Physics: The Science of Sports. You may remember Mark having fun with the term "thermal bonding" and soccer ball physics a few episodes ago. Professor Goff does work on soccer ball physics and sports physics in general. We talk about the Telstar 18, the differences between playing soccer at altitude and sea level, the World Cup, and much much more.
If you'd like to learn more about topics Professor Goff discusses on the show and researches, check out his blog, Facebook page, faculty page, peer-reviewed publications and Youtube work. Our interest in interviewing him started with his work with the podcast Playing with Science and his book. Matt highly recommends both.
