075 From 9-11: A Secret Service Agent’s Tale of Survival and Dogs That Worked Ground Zero.
First, Dan Hughes, a former secret service agent for the United States was reporting to work at one of
the towers on 9-11, 2001 when it collapsed. Listen to his story about his experience and survival and
how that led him to want to work with dogs. He is currently the co-owner of Dogs for Defense, a
company of detection dogs that sniff out drugs and bombs.
Then, there were numerous search and rescue dog teams that worked at the World Trade Center on 9-
11. I’ll share a few of the stories of these dog heroes.
