Queer Here, Queer There

Episode 4: Queer Heritage - Something Worth Saving?

August 16, 2019

EPISODE SUMMARY
In the last episode of Queer Here, Queer There, Noah uncovers the messy world of heritage preservation and who determines what gets to be saved. David Rayside, the former director of the Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto, and Ken Lustbader, the co-director of the NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project contribute decades of activist knowledge to the conversation.

EPISODE NOTES
Thank you again to David and Ken for contributing their insight and experience to this episode, it was a pleasure speaking with them!
As part of my fellowship this summer, I wrote a policy brief that addresses the HSMBC's shortcomings when it comes to historic preservation of queer heritage, you can check it out on the SCSC website here.
