We are talking about SLO County’s Homeless issue with ECHO Shelter President and CEO Wendy Lewis. ECHO, or the El Camino Homeless Organization, stands as a pillar of compassion and community service in San Luis Obispo County. Operating two facilities in North County, ECHO provides more than just shelter and meals—it offers a lifeline to individuals and families facing homelessness. Through individualized case management services and the dedication of 1,500 community volunteers, ECHO empowers residents with the resources and support needed to secure employment and permanent housing. Since its founding in 2001, ECHO's mission to provide food, shelter, and supportive services has remained unwavering, making a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals in the community.
