With a few job fairs coming up, I thought this would be a good time to talk about Creating Your Elevator Speech

Last year, as we approached these two job fairs, I did a series of podcast episodes on topics that would give you a better chance of being successful at these fairs.

Episode #16 – Introduction to Job Fairs

Episode #17 – What to Wear to a Job Fair

Episode #18 – How to Start a Conversation at a Job Fair

Episode #19 – How to Sell Yourself at a Job Fair

Episode #20 – How to End a Conversation at a Job Fair

Episode #21 – Review of Job Fair Discussions

Episode #22 – How to Follow Up After a Job Fair

In this episode, I kind of combine the “how to start a conversation at a job fair” and “how to sell yourself at a job fair” and talk about creating your elevator speech. I describe some different types of elevator speeches: elevator speeches that highlight experience, elevator speeches that highlight strengths and then unique or creative elevator speeches.
