Discussion Podcast: Physical Therapist Practice in the ICU: Growing Evidence, Growing Demand

Increasingly, evidence shows that physical therapist-led rehabilitation intervention in the ICU is safe and feasible and results in fewer days of mechanical ventilation, shorter ICU and hospital lengths of stay, and improved patient outcomes. However, the day to day implications of this growing body of evidence were unclear until the recent publication of two articles in the July and October 2015 issues PTJ. In this discussion podcast Dr. Patricia Ohtake interviews Dr. Daniel Malone and Dr. Ellen Wruble Hakim about the current state of physical therapist practice in the ICU.
