Ep 183: Halimah DeOliveira Enlightens the Prisonworld Radio Hour About Not Without My Hijab
The Prisonworld Radio Hour is winding down 2018 with a series of shows to make it a November to Remember! Joining cohosts Jenny & Rufus Triplett is Halimah DeOliveira. She’s an author, business coach, and creator of the play adapted from her book, Not Without My Hijab.
One of the most often discussed topics for Muslim women is the hijab. It’s the head covering, also known as a khimar, that Muslim women choose to wear. It has been viewed as a form of oppression but to some, it’s not an option. It’s hijab, period. This episode has a open and frank discussion as to why women should wear it and why some has chosen to remove it and then why others who have removed it have found it again. FYI… hijab is not just for women. It’s for men to!
