Episode 011: "What is a Metaplot?"

June 16, 2016

Whew! Eleven episodes in and we are still going strong. We have talked about story, gaming, and dragons. We've discussed design ideas and table philosophy. Now we get to the real fun stuff.  By this point some of you have taken a stab at running a game but keep encountering the same problem. How much of your own story do you tell verses the story that is being told in the books of the game you are running. Your troubles have a name and it is "Metaplot", and it's not the easiest thing to break apart and use. Too much and you threaten to tie your game to the railroad tracks. Too little and then why are you even playing this particular game at all? Hard questions with complicated answers. If you want to know what we have to say about it sit right back, plug in those ear phones, and take a  listen to our arm-chair discourse on Metaplot here on Polyhedron.Friends of the Show!iTunes Google Play!  (If you don't see our logo, just hit the "Listen Now" button)StitcherEmail: Polyhedronpodcast@gmail.comTwitter:  Matthew (@Bioimportance), Scott (@divismalkav), Ryan (@rjuous) Patreon: http://patreon.com/polyhedronRSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/PolyhedronFacebook: Headcanon GamesOpening Theme: "Ident" by Ogre off Ogre 195Polyhedron is a production of Headcanon Games LLC
