In this sermon, we were reminded of the context in which the Christmas promise was given in the book of Isaiah and the appropriate response to God’s grace. We saw how the promise of the coming Messiah was given to a king who did not trust God. In the same way, our lack of trust towards God is an act of turning away His grace. But similar to how the promise of the messiah was given despite its initial rejection, we are reminded that God’s grace is dispensed not because we are good, but because God is good.
