2023 June 12 - The Largest Satellites of Earth

June 12, 2023

In today's image, we see the two largest satellites of Earth. The largest satellite is the one natural satellite, our own Moon. The next largest satellite is the International Space Station. While they may appear close to gather in the image, they are actually far apart with the ISS being in low Earth orbit, circling Earth every 90 minutes. Our Moon, on the other hand, takes nearly a month to circle Earth once.
